About Me:
I’m Jake Seastrand, and as a longtime resident of Salt Lake City, I’m running for City Council to be a strong advocate for my neighbors in District 3. My professional experience as a Judicial Assistant at the Salt Lake County Justice Court has given me a deep and compassionate understanding of the challenges our community faces. I've seen firsthand how public policy can impact families and individuals, from housing instability to mental health crises, and I’m committed to putting that experience to work for the community.
When I'm not focused on public service, I'm with my husband, my partner for over eight years. We love our vibrant neighborhood and our two dogs. We're also proud self-proclaimed DIYers who enjoy working on our house and exploring the great outdoors. My platform is built on several core values: Smart Growth & Affordable Housing, Support for Small Business Owners, Enhancing Green Spaces, and a comprehensive approach to Public Safety, Mental Health, & Substance Abuse. My goal is to ensure every family in our district has a voice and the opportunity to thrive. I'm not running to manage the status quo; I'm running to deliver tangible, real-world results that make Salt Lake City a more affordable, safer, and more innovative place for every resident. I ask for your vote to help me build that future.
